Kathleen,

This blog is published by the software company that helps power companies communicate with their customers about outages. I would recommend that you take pictures of damaged and lost items and contact your insurance company. You might also want to take the items from your fridge and freezer outside. Another approach is to freeze a bucket of water outside and put it in the refrigerator to keep items cool. Also, you can find the location of dry ice trucks provided by Central Hudson at http://stormcentral.cenhud.com/default.aspx which can be used to keep food cold.

After 3 days ( plus a few hours) without power, I have had to discard almost all the food in my refrigerator and freezer. Can I get some reimbursement for replacing these items? If so, how do I apply for it?
Thanks.

Anyway, who won the Regatta?
